L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue sits in the middle of five confluences of the Sorgue river which rises at Vaucluse de Fontaine 7km away. Year round the waters stay at 13 degrees and flow round many of the narrow historical streets in this town of 20,000 inhabitants. With its delightful boutiques, museums, the baroque grandeur of Notre Dame des Anges and the moss-strewn mill wheels that dot the canals, L’Isle is internationally famed for its permanent antique markets and brocante shops and due to its abundant canals, is known as the Venice of the Comtat. Grocery shopping is very close and there are several supermarkets on the outskirts of town.

This bustling market town is served by a small railway station and is the gateway for drivers to the beautiful villages of the Luberon to the south, the papal palaces and TGV station at Avignon to the west and Mont Ventoux to the north. Kayaking, cycling, hiking, tennis and golf are all enjoyed in the surrounding area. The international airport at Marseille is 45 mins away and both the beaches of the Cote d’Azur and the ski slopes, are only 1 hour’s drive. la Marisol benefits from a private and secure parking space close by.

Guest Book
‘My husband and I stayed in this lovely home for a week in June. While we were anticipating La Marisol to be a good base for exploring the delights of Provence, given the pictures and reviews that we had seen prior to our arrival, it was certainly so much more. Although the house is situated in a really central location in this pretty town and convenient for restaurants and shops, it is also very quiet and peaceful.’

‘I came to stay at La Marisol with my 2 children aged 11 and 8 for a week and had a delightful time. The house exceeded all expectations. Very stylish, ultra comfortable, everything you could want or need. My children delighted in stepping out of the courtyard each morning and going for a short walk down delightful atmospheric lanes to buy pastries for our breakfast. We ate these in the gorgeous provencal kitchen at the enormous table in the middle of the room, the sunlight filtering through the open windows. Sigh. It really was that lovely.’

‘This wonderful house is in a fantastic location in the heart of picturesque Sorgue, and was a terrific base for my large family of 8 to explore the area. You will want for nothing as this house has everything you will need for a comfortable stay. Wifi, English TV and a range of DVDs were welcome for my younger children after being deprived of these after 3 weeks of travel. For the parents, a very stylish house with great attention to detail, and decorated with obvious flair and passion awaits. The pictures don't do justice to it. Immaculately clean, and professionally managed, this is a property I have no hesitation in recommending.’
